Let disturbing thoughts come and go

Question: I have been trying so hard to bring the mind to a state of coma, but the rush of thoughts and the steadiness of mind make things very difficult, and I feel it is possible.

Baba: It is possible by observing the correct method of control. The disturbing thoughts should be allowed to come and go. There is no need to try to exercise a direct pressure to drive them away. The more you do so, the more they will confront you.

So keep an attitude of apathy and total indifference, holding the “central” intended thought uppermost in mind, disregarding every other disturbing thought…
